In Everett, Washington, an 11-year-old child was tricked by a guy who paid for a drink at the boy’s lemonade shop with a fake $100 bill, according to the police.

According to a Facebook post by the Everett Police Department, Jeremy, 11, used his allowance money to put up a lemonade stand to make additional money during the summer when a man approached the youngster brandishing a phony $100 bill.

According to the Facebook post, the man used the fake money to buy a drink from Jeremy, who could only give him exact change of $85 because that was all he had left over from his allowance.

According to the Everett Police Department, Jeremy discovered the $100 note was a phony when he attempted to make a transaction at a nearby petrol station.

On Friday, the police distributed a GoFundMe page created by Amy Steenfott, who claimed to be Jeremy’s family’s neighbor. To “help cover his loss and offer him some more funds to maybe expand his firm,” she requested $250 in her letter.

As of the time of writing, the GoFundMe has amassed more than $9,000.
